The HXD1C electric locomotive (designated “Harmony 1C”) is an electric locomotive developed by CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. Unveiled in 2009, the locomotive features a Co’Co’ wheel arrangement, weighs 150 tonnes, and has a power output of 7.2 megawatts.

This model is capable of hauling freight trains weighing 5,000 to 5,500 tonnes on railway lines across central and eastern China, and can operate on gradients of up to 12‰. It offers an excellent price-performance ratio, excelling in environmental protection, energy conservation, and economic efficiency; it also serves as one of the primary locomotive models for the future of China’s railway transport. Additionally, a variant was specifically manufactured for use on the Addis Ababa–Djibouti Railway in Ethiopia.
