Early KTX trains used a centralized power design. Power cars were located at both ends of the train, with passenger cars in the middle.The KTX-Sancheon utilizes high-speed train technology developed independently in South Korea. Hyundai Rotem was responsible for the related vehicle development and manufacturing. This model has a maximum operating speed of 330 km/h, with a commercial operating speed typically around 300 km/h.The KTX-Ein uses a distributed power design. Traction equipment is distributed across multiple cars. This design improves power utilization and also helps enhance line adaptability.The KTX-Cheongryong also uses distributed power technology. Hyundai Rotem data shows that its EMU-320 has a maximum speed of 320 km/h. Hyundai Rotem has also developed the HEMU-430X high-speed train with a maximum speed of 430 km/h.
